I have a value system that says make everything last as long as possible. This goes for everything, materials, time, money, the whole shebang! The less you need (or resist the desire for) and the more you can get out of everything (including your own body!) the less you will waste of your life! Life can be that simple. The less I want, the less time I need to spend earning, the more time I have for myself and for others. This makes me very, very happy indeed! No polluting my lungs at rush hour to pay for a new car! :) Of course, to be happy we have to do everything in moderation, including moderation itself! So to moderate the amount we recycle we must look at what and how we can reuse things. ![]() Worldwide | UK | Manchester, UK Some of this reuse will need us to reskill as a society in the simplest things such as darning, sewing and treating everything we have with care. For instance we run cars into the ground because we're already thinking of our next car. But think of a car as an equal being but made of metal and your whole outlook changes and so too does the possibility of the car lasting longer! ![]() Many recycling centres are located at supermarkets so you can dump before you shop. Often they cannot provide facilities for every kind of recycling. However, this shouldn't stop your mission... You can reuse or recycle almost everything in our commercial world and given that councils may start to charge for waste by the binload it's time to start rethinking about it now. Here is a list of the types of things you can recycle that keeping for reuse would simply make your home look like a tip!
