Children have been asked about contact and -- they want it --
even in the most difficult of situations.

I am at present growing my hair in protest:
- for EVERY CHILD to MATTER (regardless of society's parental stereotypes)
- for every child to be able to see both their parents as much as possible after separation
- for every child to have continued community peer support to do so
- for every adult to have community peer support to overcome communication problems
- for every child to be educated about such a service to underpin marriage
- for every victim of domestic violence to be treated equally as the abused person they are
- for every perpetrator of domestic violence to be helped to manage their anger
- for every child to have their main home with the non-abusive parent to stop abuse
- for every child to enjoy growth of identity that living with both parents can bring
- for restorative justice to be the norm in the family courts
- for family courts that work with the community
- for family courts that are open to public scrutiny to gain public support and service
- for family courts to monitor fallible outcomes for every child's continued well-being
- for your children's children
- for family - so even if you live alone there is support to flourish.

The book everyone should read who values their born, and yet to be born, children and grandchildren.

As true over here as it is over there. The book certainly highlights the need for a preventative system; one taught about in schools; one kids can believe in when they enter parenthood; peer support groups for children or adults and adults with children; groups to help each other heal and deal with the heartbreak of separation for whatever reason -- particularly to learn how to cope with sharing time responsibly caring for any child without harming either them or the other parent; one that is available at the point of separation and based on the marriage of responsibility and rights.

It is doable. When I describe such a thing, all the separated-family friends I have (parents, grandparents and the children who have grown up in the current environment of drawn out Court battles) wish such a support system had existed for them.

Perhaps one exists? If you know of such a group please let me know.

We need to get more creative. We need a justice programme that restores the family relationships as best as it possibly can combined with the support of preventative, community lead, family support groups.

For now this book inidicates, dishearteningly, the current situation.

EXPOSING THE CORRUPTION IN THE MASSACHUSETTS FAMILY COURTS
(http://www.lulu.com/content/198514)
by Kevin Thompson

I (Kevin Thompson) am just one of the thousands of fathers who have been victimized by the system of organized crime in the Massachusetts family courts. This book exposes the motives, tactics, and hypocrisy that all fathers must endure. The book also details my specific case including the "spin off" corruption that resulted from my efforts to hold the liars and racketeers in and outside of this kangaroo court system accountable.

A Change In Divorce Laws Puts Children First

This article on a change in the law, albeit just in one of the states of America, is one to watch. A divorce is only granted when parental responsibilities have been accepted by both parents based on equality. This is an excellent step forward where both parents must put children first and they cannot be used as pawns. Fingers crossed for kids everywhere...

'Conservatives back Dads Campaign'

The ongoing campaign by controversial fathers group Fathers 4 Justice (F4J) gained political support for the first time yesterday from the Tory Leader Michael Howard.

The Rt Hon Michael Howard QC MP said: "With around 4 million children living apart from natural parents it is important that those children enjoy contact with both parents as much as possible where that can be achieved. Too many non-resident parents are being failed by the system and deprived of the access to their children which they deserve and from which their children derive great benefit. The Conservative Party is determined to raise this problem up the political agenda and promote the rights and responsibilities of shared parenting."
