May 29th, 2003 - Ex-tenant rent judgement [Previously] Once again judgement has been set aside, the ex-tenant letting us know in the hearing that he had an exam and provided his own statement showing new alledged payments in September and October. I couldn't believe it. There was a little compensation though. The judge ruled that there should be a judgement for the difference plus costs and the ex-tenant has to pay me back monthly from the end of May. The balance will go forward to another hearing. One year after I first started court proceedings and 20 months after he initially stopped paying me (Sep 2001) I am only just starting to see the light. May 7th, 2003 - Massive update! It's been a while since I came back from New Orleans and I feel like I need to give everyone an update on what's happening. Mortgage: [Previously]

We had a great time putting up the tent, visiting Peveril Castle where we met a viking and exploring some of the caves on guided tours. The Blue John Mines were awesome and although tiny in comparison, the Devil's Arse (Peak Cavern) was excellent due to its in depth guided tour and rope making demonstration. We've now joined English Heritage and the National Trust too so we can visit more places free and take part in member events! The membership books are fantastic! My mum has told me that the Blue John Mines were one of the first places she and my real dad Dave went when they started going out. Strange that. I really loved being in the mines and it gave me an enormous sense of connection with the world, back to a time when we only existed as other elements and not humans at all. Southport: [Update]
Sabin and Lia came up too and we all went out to Southport for the day. It was brilliant. We drove straight to the beach and sat in the sand dunes. The boys played together digging in the sand but as David was digging Sabin was determined to fill it in... ho hum! It felt great to be out driving with a car full, the two kids in the back and me and Lia in the front. It felt normal. It felt right! :) Poetry: You can mail order a copy by writing to: The Ugly Tree, Mucusart Publications, 6 Chiffon Way, Gtr Manchester M3 6AB, enclosing a cheque payable to P.Neads for £3.00. March 25th, 2003 - Something to cheer us all up! With all the war in Iraq and all the problems on the home front at the moment I thought I'd share a few things from Kids United rather than go on about them! Last week I did matchstick pictures with the kids. Here's my effort featuring a mother ship and several other flying saucers...
Over christmas we attempted to do some decorations that we hoped would end up see through for hanging on the christmas trees. I made a very poor attempt at doing rudolf! (They would have at least been translucent had we used a thinner layer of glue).
Also here's a picture of me and David with our new tent!
March 3rd, 2003 -- To David's Great Grandma's in Weymouth [Previously] [Update] Well me, David and my mum and dad had a great time in Weymouth! This weekend we went down to Weymouth to see David's Great Grandma, my mum's mum. She's doing pretty well I think, quite mobile and very active mentally. We all had lunch at a pub in Weymouth, steak and kidney pud for me, before heading back to grandma's. We stayed in a bed and breakfast and had a lovely walk on the beach before bedtime, throwing stones in the sea like rain. Next day we spent the day on the beach again and I saw David skim his first stones after a little help of course lol! :) A proud dad moment there! David bought himself a bow and arrow which he became pretty efficient with by the end of the day and some sweets for his other Grandad and some for his mum and M. The weather was beautiful if cold! David did this crayoning in the car for me. He said I could put it on the web site, so here it is.
March 3rd, 2003 -- Joint Mortgage Endowment Lapsing, Negative Equity and the CSA [Previously] [Update] The only thing that spoiled the whole weekend was getting shouted at by M when we got back. X had received the letter from the Independent Financial Advisor I had employed and told her about. The letter outlined the issues surrounding the mortgage and the amount she at present owes me. Unfortunately, the house is in negative equity and with the threat of a blacklisting hanging over me I have had to pay the mortgage alone since 1995. The mortgage? 'That's your problem' X had said. X always said that she would pay me back from profits from the endowment or give them to David... Unfortunately I have not been able to collect payments from her for the endowment and now the Mortgage Company CIS may lapse the policy. So we still both owe half the mortgage each, less whatever the endowment will pay out. There is negative equity of £17000 so it needs converting to a repayment mortgage. On top of which X owes half of what I have paid solely so far although I have offset that with a share of the income I have been able to generate by renting the house out. All she need do is get a solicitor and it can all be sorted. M however, says he got my 'note' about X owing me £9000 and that this is all going to end here and promptly walked in. I saw David through the window and thought that meant not seeing David. I asked what he meant. He came back out, me at the end of the garden. He shouted that they were going to get the Child Support Agency involved. Now that puzzled me. It's never what you expect. I asked what the CSA had to do with the mortgage and he said they were going to get money I owed them for the last 10 years. (At this point I should point out that 10 years ago was 1993, I was still with X and she was still beating me up each day and night. David was just 3 months old and I didn't want to go near her. I now had to stay with her 18 years and I didn't want that extended by her falling pregnant again. It didn't stop her trying. That's another story and one that needs to be told. She has said sorry once. But then she denied that and denied ever doing anything to me. I got away from the physical abuse but obviously the rest continues.) So 8 and a bit years then but the CSA already wrote to me years ago saying I don't owe anything. I was a student, then I became a temp worker and self employed, then she got married. He also said that I would be hearing from their solicitor about this and it was going to be very, very expensive. I said that she does need to get one. It needs to be sorted. He was walking in, turned around again and said that I was sick and needed to get help. I said I had never done anything wrong. He was very angry, he turned his back, walked in and shut the door. Inside David seemed to be calm and collected speaking to his mum on the couch. Luckily my dad had come with me because the rage M was in towards me completely puzzled me. My dad has said that he will drop David off for me from now on. Lots of families are facing this endowment mortgage dilemma now, together, separated or divorced. The market has slumped. Endowments aren't paying out. Mortgages need to be sorted out that's all. February 27th, 2003 -- Letter from Ian Stewart MP re war in Iraq [Previously] Today I received this response from Ian Stewart my MP regarding my concerns over going to war in Iraq.
I thanked him for his reply and gave my response by email February 19th, 2003 - Oxfam Urgent Iraq Action [Update] "War in Iraq is getting closer every day. Your voice is needed before it becomes a disaster for Iraq's people. Take action now to prevent this crisis: Oxfam is enabling you to email Prime Minister Tony Blair at: http://oxfam.org.uk/iraqactnow The people of Iraq are still suffering the effects of bombing during the 1991 Gulf War. Twelve years of economic sanctions, and their own government's policies, have made things worse. Nearly two-thirds of Iraqis - more than 15 million people - depend entirely on food rations distributed by their government. Any attack, particularly if it destroys roads and bridges, could stop the food reaching those people. They would go hungry. When Oxfam aid workers first entered Iraq at the end of the 1991 Gulf War, they found a public health disaster. There was sewage in the streets because air strikes had destroyed the electricity supplies which powered the sanitation systems. Twelve years later, much of that damage has still not been repaired. Similar attacks now could make things even worse. Those who propose war have not yet shown that any threat from Iraq is so imminent that it justifies the risk of so much human suffering. For more information see: http://www.oxfam.org.uk/iraqaction TAKE ACTION NOW: February 19th, 2003 - News censorship [Previously] [Update] Just a note really to let everyone know that this site is being used to question David about his time with me and as I'm not willing to continue to let that happen I won't be reporting on my time with David anymore. He's had his mobile phone taken off him and handed back to me and X and M are, according to M, asking his school to no longer contact me. This is despite the fact it's helped raise my awareness to some academic problems and to help David start to resolve them. Of course I will continue to talk openly about what happens to me with people but until such a time as things are sorted out for David with regard to his wishes I feel I can no longer let everyone know what's going on as far as David's feelings are concerned. I've really appreciated all the messages of support for us over the email and all the new friends I have made who have helped us get through this so far. I'll still be in touch over email of course. :) Some legacy this is turning out to be lol! :) See you later, steve February 16th, 2003 - Funfair with David, Celine and Irene January 26th, 2003 - Poetry performance! January 22nd, 2003 - Great weekend with David! January 3rd, 2003 - Me and David get more time!
