Glastonbury 2004

This year I went to GLASTONBURY with Rachel and the weather was roasting hot one minute, rainy the next but that meant there was plenty of mud to squidge your toes through - Yeah! :) I:Steven Cunio - Muddy toes

The Sauna
Once again the GREEN FIELDS were what I personally went for. I introduced Rach to the green field sauna at the Body and Soul cafe (I think it was called that -- changes its name every year!). Mmm the sauna was great and Rach loved it with all the naked men around! Very nice and friendly as usual cold showers, hot steam and fresh air! :) Fleetingly saw Kat again and hope to catch up better next year.

Pitching the tent
Getting the tent pitched was a nightmare. We walked the length of Glastonbury and back TWICE carting the gear with us. Our shift was in the LOST VAGUENESS area together with camping but no one seemed to know where the area was! We gave up and camped in Toms Field making the long walk each day though the trip to the car was considerably shorter when we left!

The Music
I:Steven Cunio - Morrissey at Glastonbury 2004 The main attraction for me was MORRISSEY on the PYRAMID STAGE. After all these years I finally got to see the man in all his angst ridden glory as his onstage sound equipment failed to live up to his expectations! Our aural pleasure was exquisite and I was grinning like a Cheshire Cat, singing along to all the classic SMITHS tracks!

Rach's favourite was MUSE and I must admit for three guys the sound was BIG and the keyboard and guitar work, completely awesome. I:Steven Cunio - MUSE at Glastonbury 2004

We both enjoyed the adhoc stops in tents round and about the site, giving us a chance to put our aching feet up and chill with herbal tea or bath water as Rach prefered to call it - eww put me off or what?!

The Work
It wasn't all play. We were at Glastonbury doing volunteer work for NETWORK RECYCLING which meant collecting and sorting all the rubbish into biodegradable and recyclable waste this year. Once again it meant a lot of early mornings but it was worth the effort for two hot meals a day, private loos, showers, secure camping and your ticket money back for your efforts!
