I: Steven CunioLinks: Home | News Archive | Latest news Sep 14th, 2003 - Urbis Manchester with David [Previously] [Update] Went to the Urbis in Manchester which is fantastic! It's about 4 floors of city magic. All the exhibits are interactive which means you can touch and mess about with them! It's laid out as if you are on a taxi journey with cabbie comments from different cities like Singapore, Manchester, Bombay, New York, Tokyo and more, on the walls as you walk around. There are seats with screenshows and a place where you can make your own photo card, take it with you or stick it on the wall of visitors.. an ongoing art wall face. We spent about 3 hours there, reading all there was to read, pressing all the buttons that wanted pressing and watching most of the films too. The shop is good too with nicely priced stuff from around the world and a great selection of books including 'Salford by the Sea' which is where I went for a week with Kids United! David bought a £20 note eraser and I got a pair of reflexology socks! lol. I even left a note behind suggesting Crescent Arc for their logo... you can leave your suggestion too!
